What is my milk worth?

How much you got?

A woman sitting cross-legged on her kitchen floor with flat frozen bags of milk laid out in rows around her, her toddler handing her another bag
A standard storage bag is about 5 oz / 150 ml.

What it's worth

Same milk, three rungs. The difference between them is reputation, not the milk.

Refine it

Four things move the number, and every one of them is in your control.

A rating built on real completed sales is the strongest price lever there is.
Milk keeps best quality about six months deep-frozen, and buyers know it.
The same screen milk banks require. The premium usually pays for the test within a listing or two.
Bulk moves cheaper per ounce; a dependable weekly supply earns a standing-order premium.

Shipping sits on top and is usually the buyer’s cost – frozen postage runs to real money, so bigger, less frequent orders spread it.

Why reputation is the price

People are sometimes surprised that the same milk, out of the same freezer, is worth two or three times as much depending on who is selling it. It isn't the milk that changed. Human milk is a raw food bought from a stranger, and everything a buyer pays extra for is evidence that the stranger is reliable: dated bags, an honest disclosure sheet, a cold chain that held, and other buyers who say it went well.

That's why the calculator is built the way it is. Every dial on it is something you can change – how you pack, whether you screen, how consistently you deliver. None of it is about who you are, only about what you do. The climb from the bottom rung to the top is roughly a dozen good deliveries, and it's the best-paid work in this whole business.
